I am opulently fresh, made of outrageous vanilla, a brown treasure from Madagascar. Alongside it, other jewels from the fertile earth that inspired me: explosive cinnamon and salivating ginger.

I am a perfume of opulence, I do not hide the high doses of bergamot and neroli that constitute me. I am a tribute to a country and its inhabitants. I am a gourmet and refreshing madness; an olfactory paradox. I am Majaĩna Sin. A gourmand by Emile Copperman, 2017.

Let’s travel to Madagascar, says The Different Company. The long brown vanilla pod is at the origin of one of the most famous essences of perfumery, and is one of the most mouth-watering too. Chocolatey, mellow, leathery, spicy and fig-like, vanilla from Madagascar is the most popular ingredient in the world of gourmand perfumery.

Extracted from a very fine bark, the cinnamon from Madagascar never stops surprising us: peppered, spicy and powdered it also releases fruity top notes. Often qualified as sparkly, the Madagascan cinnamon gives life to any perfume composition.

The quality of ginger here comes from the distillation of the young rhizome, imparting its characteristics of freshly peeled ginger to the perfume. Spicier and effervescent, it lasts throughout the whole evolution of the perfume.

There is no doubting Majaĩna Sin’s deliciousness, which is best understood as structured in layers - an olfactory cake with a dense and crumbly base with scintillating glace fruit at the top. Lightness slides into heavier tones, vanilla is present all the way down, joined with spices, flowers, amber.
